It was especially at the edges where the mesh got a bit to deformed. But still I have some problems when I tested it from C4d to uvlayout, got some nice uvs and started sculpting from there. Shane does note that there are some problems with artifacts occurring causing some problems in the model, and demonstrates when using weights becomes relevant in Cinema 4D Subdivision Modeling showing how some models can benefit. So I was playing with the new sculpting tools in C4d, they are very awesome and just what I need to carve in the fine detail after the modeling. You can now edit the Subdivision Surface weighting parameters in the Attribute Manager on the Subdivision Surface Weights tab. points, edges or polygons) that you want to weight. The Weight Tag in Cinema 4D is similar to adding a crease value when using Subdivisions in other 3D applications, allowing you some better control over hard edges when using a sub-D surface. In this webinar snippet you'll learn how to use Subdivision Surface (SDS) Modelling inside of Cinema 4D S24, including modelling your own SDS Dolphin. To weight only the edges of the selected polygons, hold down the period key and Ctrl/Cmd +drag. However, there are some objects that can benefit from it, like the arrowhead in this example Weighting can sometimes cause problems, so I tend to stay away from it. In continuation for the Cinema 4D tutorial series in better understanding Subdivision modeling, Shane Benson adds another installment taking a look at using weighting to affect the tension of a HyperNURBS object in Cinema.
